Jonas Gutierrez: RVP is not a good person
Jonas Gutierrez has hit out Robin van Persie following his bust-up with compatriot Tim Krul. A simmering row boiled over during the closing stages of the Magpies’ 2-1 Barclays Premier League defeat at the Emirates Stadium. Newcastle winger Gutierrez said; I think RVP was wrong and there was no need for him to do that and they have won the match, it is finished. I can’t comprehend a person like that and he is not right. When you experience like that, it is because you are not a good person.
He was the only Arsenal player who responded like that. The others were saying to him, ‘Calm down. When you do react like that, the fans go crazy as well, so it’s not good for the atmosphere of the game. I don’t care about the football; I am talking about the person. When you have people who do that, it’s not right. We are all used to getting kicks. But when you have things like that, it is not right. It is not easy to accept at all.
Krul, though, was eager to draw a line under the incident. I was very disappointed with the incident involving RVP. We are both professional players and what happens on the pitch stays on the pitch. We are playing the best and toughest league in the world and things like this happen not well for game. Because there is only one thing on my mind during a match and that is to win the game.
